On 9 February 2023, our experts carried out a field visit to Taltria, in the municipality of Adrej, Sefrou province (Fès-Meknès region), to prepare a drinking water supply project for the community.
Findings
- The stream running past the houses is permanently muddy.
- Two previously dug wells provide salty water.
- The only freshwater well would need to be deepened by 10 m using traditional methods, a risky operation.
After consultation, the team recommended drilling a 50 m borehole nearby, a safer and more durable solution.

The technical study is complete and the budget is costed. The storage tank is already available and solar panels can be mobilised: MAD 56,000 (about EUR 5,200) is enough to guarantee lasting access to drinking water for the families of Taltria. Companies, foundations and donors can fund all or part of the project.
