The integrated development project of Ain Beida village, in the municipality of Ain Chkef (Moulay Yacoub province, Fès-Meknès region), is the founding project of our rural intervention model. Together with several partners and volunteers, the association worked on several dimensions of village life at the same time.
Education
Better schooling for the village children:
- construction of two permanent classrooms;
- a multipurpose room with computers, a library and audiovisual equipment;
- a fully equipped preschool classroom;
- improved walkways inside the school grounds.
Health
Medical caravans for the inhabitants.
Sport
- A football competition between village youth and a football academy from Fès;
- football equipment provided.
Agriculture
- Better access to irrigation water;
- planting of fruit trees.
Drinking water
The development of the “Ain Beida” spring could not be carried out because part of the population did not support it. This lesson strengthened our conviction that a sustainable project is built with the community, at every stage.
A replicable model
This project became the reference for our later interventions, including the rehabilitation of Ain Beida rural school under the N’BNIOUW L’HAYAT programme.
